Members can submit their photos to be voted on by other members. Winner receives a prize and photo recognition online.
Hiking Challenges
We aim to do at least 1 new hike challenge each year for the group. Those who complete receive a prize and button. Previous prizes have been a fanny pack and water bottle sling. Prizes are collected at our celebration that we schedule in January. Check out our challenges/events page for our most current yearly challenge.
Free Swag
SD Hiking Ladies logo'd swag is a fun part of our group! We love to give out feeebies like stickers and lip balms at some of our hikes and events. Our yearly challenge always has a free prize (ex: fanny pack, water bottle sling, hat) and some hikes throughout the year will have free prizes for attendence (ex: cleanup walks, fundraiser walks, etc). We also raffle off items like tumblers, caps and bags. Lookout for future events with free swag!

Our group puts together special seasonal events throughout the year, including Halloween costume contest, Christmas parties and more, some during or after a hike. Click below to search a list of upcoming events and hikes. Usually posted around the holidays.

We try and do a minimum of 1 giveback/fundraising event per year to help a specific cause. Many of these causes are chosen by group members, so they have a special meaning to our group. Our events page will have upcoming and past events.

After many requests, we have re-opened a new online shop in 2023 that will have more options to choose from! We have partnered with a printing factory that will print apparel & accessories "on-demand" which means we won't be holding inventory and items will ship directly from the factory to you. New items always being added, mostly t-shirts!

Hiking in San Diego hot spots, walking around lakes, exploring new trails that San Diego County (and sometimes out of county) has to offer! We have a range of hikes from beginner (easy) walks & hikes, intermediate (moderate) level hikes and workouts, and harder/longer hikes. Some of our easier hikes and walks will include Torrey Pines,

Some of our easier hikes and walks will include Torrey Pines, Lake Miramar, Los Penasquitos Waterfall, beach or bay walks. Moderate and more challenging hikes will include Cowles Mountain and other hikes in Mission Trails (South Fortuna, North Fortuna), Potato Chip Rock, Iron Mountain, Black Mountain, Cedar Creek (Devils Punchbowl), El Cajon Mountain, Eagle Rock, PCT Pacific Crest Trail, and so many more!

We love to do hiking challenges and special events in our group! Our first challenge started in 2020 (20 New Hikes in 2020-2021), where you received a special pin and free prize. Since then we have started/completed many challenges in our group, including our yearly Challenge that is different each year and we celebrate as a group, giving out buttons and prizes every January. Leaders also do several one off challenges like Mission Trails 5 Peaks in 1 Day. We have done many special events like Birthday Celebrations, Cleanup Walks, Fundraising Events, Spring Social, and Holiday gatherings.

It's always been a struggle for me to stay in shape, commit to exercise, and find reliable girlfriends to do so with, which is why I started this group. I would love to help out other ladies with exercise commitments, just like you will be helping me! I'm motivated and committed to this group and always excited to see it evolve each year!
Please note: I am not an expert hiker or a coach of any kind, mainly here for the exercise and to do fun things in the group! I also work in the promotional products (logo'd swag) industry, so I love creating and giving SD Hiking Ladies giveaways to share with the group!

Our ladies hiking group was created on the "Meetup" platform in 2018, as San Diego Ladies Hiking, Walking & More! and has grown to over 600+ paid subscribers.
Following in 2019 we started the San Diego Ladies Social Group - since members wanted to do more social activities other than hiking! This group has over 1,000 free subscribers.

In 2022 we started the San Diego Ladies Hiking & Walking with Dogs group since many members wanted to do dog hikes/walks and it has grown to over 1,000 free subscribers.
In 2026 the founder wanted to meet more parents with little kids to do playdates with, so the San Diego Playdates for Little Ones & Parents started.
